First time PC builder here, and I went with the 9900x for a mix of gaming and productivity. I'm happy with it as its usage doesn't break 30% when gaming, running numerous Youtube tabs and chrome web tabs open, along with other apps. It is very powerful and can do alot of productive tasks, no issues with gaming either. In CS2 1440p I am getting 300-400 fps, not too much compared to the X3D variants but I'm enjoying it. Temps are hot so be sure to have a good liquid AIO as this cpu likes to boost.

This is the first time I'm using AMD processors and I'm not disappointed. Bought this for gaming purposes and CAD software and it runs great performing both tasks.

The 9900x really is such a sweet spot for gaming and work, handles everything I throw at it with ease and isn't difficult to cool.
I upgraded from the old Intel 9900k and the difference was night and day. Highly recommend this CPU for anyone who wants to find something that is the perfect all-rounder for their new pc build.
