Older but capable NUC - Bergvliet High School, 15 November 2024
I bought one of these for our school at the start of 2023 as a PC powering a TV in the new boardroom - we needed something small and quiet that had enough power to get the job done. Though this is a 10th gen chip, it still has enough grunt to get the display job done fine, especially since we kitted it out with 16GB of RAM and a good 500GB NVME drive. Performance has never been an issue with the device and it does exactly what we needed it to do. As a bonus, the VESA mount plate that is included in the box is really good and makes for mounting the NUC under a table a breeze.
That being said, Asus is now responsible for support for this unit since Intel sold the NUC business. I was able to get firmware updates still, but I can't imagine that is going to last too much longer given the age of this unit now. I'd definitely be looking at a GMKTec or similar solution these days now rather than going for this unit.
