Great all-round performance
I leaned more towards AMD initially, but after seeing the 13700K productivity and gaming benchmark results, I had to have this CPU. It represents the best performance to price ratio for processors in the sub R10,000 bracket, in my opinion. It continues to impress me during the day as a software developer and after-hours as a gamer. My code compiles twice as fast as before and games are buttery smooth at the highest quality presets. I would recommend prospective buyers to invest in a quality liquid cooler (360mm) and chassis, as 16 CPU cores under full load will generate a fair bit of heat.

i7-13700k Review
Recently upgraded my system and this CPU is fantastic. Not one issue during installation or setup. Surprisingly is not as power hungry as I was expecting (probably because I only play games that are mostly GPU bound). Temperatures are very good paired with my Kraken x73 360mm AIO. Overall a great product and meets all my expectations in terms of performance.

Good value, good performance and quite reliable
You're pretty much getting an upgraded 12900K for the price of a 12700K. In terms of gaming, this chip makes the most sense to purchase if you would like most of what the 13900K gives you, and would also like a very respectable multithreaded workload chip. In R23 my configuration with this chip scores a few hundred over 32000 points, which sees it best the 7900X. Gaming sees it beating the 12900K by a noticeable, but not large margin - think 5-10%. The IMC on Raptor Lake is where you bank most of your value, other than the fact that the E-cores no longer affect ring frequency or P-core performance in gaming (cache access has been altered architecturally). In terms of memory-related issues, Raptor Lake is far less likely to give you a headache, and I've found that 7200MT/s with Hynix M-die on Z690 is totally doable. Otherwise, I had a surprisingly smooth time getting this chip up and running and I have no issue recommending Raptor Lake. It's definitely a more complete package than what Alder Lake provided.
